An R rating for fnaf feels like forcing excessive gore/blood to be in the movie. You can still show a good amount of bloody scenes and unsetlling stuff EVEN in a PG13 movie (yeah, even afton death and the bite), and it would perfectly go alongside what the games always did, since they NEVER straight up showed gore, but just implied it.
