The architecture in Nerudova Street is a mixture of Renaissance and Baroque architecture and almost all houses have a Gothic cellar. The original name was Ostruhova Street. In 1895, the street name changed to Nerudova, named after the Czech poet and journalist Jan Neruda who wrote short stories about Mala Strana.
