FIAT 124 Spider - late 1974-1978 (1756cc) Our radiators are track tested to be the most efficient available anywhere! Keeping our classic Spiders cool goes way beyond how good they look. The fit is spot on and is a direct fit replacement for the stock radiator. Add our performance fan assembly for even more efficiency CO2-418.
Another Fiat (124 et al) fact is that the 1800cc engine from 1974 is also the version that held the most HP. Even the 2000cc FI with Turbo didn’t have the HP of the old 1800cc engine. I’ve had the 1800 in both a 124 Spider and a 131 4 Door Sedan and can tell you that this little 1800cc sucker was a beast! The Fiat 124 Sport Spider was designed and built by Pininfarina and had a long production run from 1966 until 1981. With well over 170, 000 built, it’s fair to compare it to our MG B roadster but with more sophisticated mechanicals and style. Those bumpers, which appeared on all the 124s and 128s in 1974, probably killed the Fiat brand over here as much as anything else. (And yes, as a former owner of a ’73 128SL, I’m well aware of Fiat’s reputation for unreliability back in those days). The earlier 124 and 128 coupes were attractive cars.
